Vintage 1950-1960's wooden Staunton Chess set is in excellent condition and doesn't seem to have been used very much. I think the box is newer than the chess pieces because it is not dovetailed but nailed together and does not have marking on it. The king are 3 " and the pawns are 1 1/2" height. The original Jaques Staunton set was register in 1849 and the design was based on Neoclassical architectural.
