One of Jan's paintings is in the National Museum in Warsaw. Known as the creator of romantic, nostalgic landscapes - in the years 1896-1897 he was a student at Krakow Jacek Malczewski School of Fine Arts. He continued his studies in Paris with Raphaela Collina. After returning home, he settled in Warsaw. He was a member of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, where he exhibited in the years 1899, 1900, 1925-1927, 1933.
