I found this scandelwood fan at an auction from the estate of Dr. H.J. Crocker who brought a suitcase of items back to Canada in 1911. He spent time in Shanghai as the coach of the Chinese Team (now Pan Am games)
The silk holding it together has mostly disintegrated and there is one small slice as photographed. It still has a lovely scent of scandelwood.
